>african americans from Ham

This idea is one that was invented to justify first slavery, and then segregation.

It is a totally racist invention.

You need to explain that to your husband and set things straight.

Noah had 3 sons. Most conservative Bible students break it down like this : Shem- father of the Asians, Ham-father of the Africans, and Jepheth-father of the Caucasians.
You would come through the line of Jepheth. If your husband is a "true" Arab, then he would come through Shem and down through Abraham and Ishmael-correct. However if he is a Caucasian Arab (there are some) then he came through Jepheth also. Parts of the Middle East are mixed races.

Your Arab husband is trying to confuse the issue by picking from different generations.
Most Europeans & Americans descended from the line of Noah's son, Japeth. (Japetic)
Africans and Arabians descended from Noah's son, Ham. (Hamitic)
The Assyrian people comes from Noah's son, Shem. (Semites)

They all were joined together at the Tower of Babel (Babylon), then language differences caused them to divide.

Abram (later Abraham), father of Ishmael and Isaac was of the Semitic tribe.
Your husband is technically correct. Jews are descended from Isaac, and the Arabs from Ishmael.
Isaac was the son of Abraham and his wife, Sarah. Ishmael was the son of Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's slave-girl.

Noah had three sons, it appears that they were all born in the same year, which means triplets.
Shem - from whom Abraham came.
Abraham had Ishmael - from whom the Arabs came.
Isaac- from whom the Jews came.
Ham - from whom those which have pigmented skin came.
Japheth - from whom those white skinned skin came.
