I've been searching for the name of the jack for a STANDARD tv not hdtv, and I've also been trying to look for an adapter/cable, which could connect a dvi or vga port from a computer video card to that of a standard tv jack but I dont know what the jack is called, can anyone help me out? and if there is no such adapter could you tell me so that I can stop searching, its been weeks!

the jack I'm talking about can either be the three holed one, or the one that has a pin hole.

The three-wire (red, white, and yellow) is called a component, composite, or RCA cable. The standard pinhole screw-on cable is called coaxial, coax for short.

I'm only guessing what you mean because your question is unclear, but a typical television is hooked up using a coaxial cable and the jack is called an RG-6 connector.

The other way to hook it up is using RCA cables, which are typically Yellow, White, and Red.

The final connection for a regular TV is an S-Video cable. This will look like the mouse port on the back of a computer. It will have four pins and a plastic piece that will only allow it to go into the slot one way.

There are no adaptors for any of these connections. If you want to hook up a computer to a standard TV, you will probably need a new video card that has one of the S-video outputs described above.

I think what you are looking for is a PC to TV converter. I've given you some links to take a look at in order to hopefully narrow down and find exactly what you are looking for:

Additionally, RadioShack is always a great place to find these types of things.

Good Luck!
