It ticks me off when a planner spends all this money and time for advertisement to get you to visit thier website then when you do they have a section on it labeled Prices/Packages.. yet when you click on it, it doesn't list prices!

I mean don't get me wrong, I am a planner myself, and it can be beneficial to hire a planner and can save you money, but what is the point in making people jump through hoops to find out if you can save them money or help them? I can tell people within minutes if I can help them. And hello, to the planners who make you pay for an initial consultations to see if they can help you... are you kidding me?

Yes, things can be cut and dry, it's not necessary to charge a person more money for the same service just because their wedding costs more. You're doing the same amount of work.
Furthermore, I dont think thier prices should be a secret they have to reveal. Yes it's necessary to talk with the couple to see how much you can save them, and how you can help them with thier planning, but most brides today have already done thier research before they even call you (spoken to friends who've use the planner, searched the BBB, read the planners website, and even other reviews online if any.) and it's a hassle to set up appointment and appointment with planners only to find out they charge too much. And I think it'd be frustrating as a planner to have wasted and hour with a couple when they knew 5 minutes into it that they won't use you b/c of your cost.

Just my opinion though.

I think if you have the resources then a wedding planner is a must. I think that they can be an invaluable resource. But to be really honest, no one REALLY needs a planner. You can do it yourself. All it takes is a creative mind and a desire to have your wedding be the best it can be.

I do think that a planner can get you hooked up with some fairly decent prices, but you can do it as well. From the beginning, you can have people fighting to get your business and whatnot.

For instance- i got all the DJ companies in our area's email addresses. I compiled an email describing what i wanted, for how long and for how much. I wrote the date and times needed and wanted everyone to write me back with price quotes. The one i chose offered me his $900 package complete with lights, and everything else for $500 and threw in the dinner hour music for free. All it takes is a bit of time.

But yeah- I am with you- i hate ANY site that doesnt advertise their prices. It makes you not be able to make the choice prior to speaking to them.

Price shouldn't be everything when considering a planner...that is why most will offer a free consultation so that everyone can get a feel for each other. If the budget is more, then the price is going to go up and vice versa...the initial meeting is necessary before tracking down costs. You won't know how much a planner can save you if you don't meet with them; you can't find details like that from the amount they charge.

If you're a planner, then you should know that things aren't so cut and dry...each wedding is different and the budgets/costs are going to be tailored accordingly. If you want to know how much someone charges, for your records, then just ask...I know that most people in the industry are more than willing to share certain bits of information. Just don't expect them to give away all of their secrets.

Joan was right, the guy had no idea what he was doing She just ask if she need asked Annie blamed Joan, but Joan did nothing that anyone else would question Annie overreacted to it. I do not get why they dropped Annie Annie did not have the experience Joan had in planning events like this, and seem not to know you need to call and keep on track. She assume that the girl got what she wanted without double checking. Donald may of. It did not. Joan volunteer did a better job than the party planner idea. I am not sure about Annie That guy was a really bad party planner If I walked in his office or the girl Annie had, I would walk out Maybe Donald did that Or he picked a group that did not was not know real well
