The U.S. wants to help people, not hurt them. If that means breaking the rules to make things better, then we are going to take the risk.

ill tell you why if the war was not declared over there then it would be here and you wouldnt want that would you....excactly.....second, we are building schools there, houses churchs,if you are as caring as u sound then u will understand that we are not in the old times where the army soldiers where drafted and forced to go to the army they signed their contract with that possibility of going oversiezed so0o0o they cant complain im telling you this as someone that plans on joining the army in 2 years the recruits all ready have the mentallity that they can go 2 iraq and yes AMERICANS are dying but before we got there about 6 thousand people where dying each day EACH DAY we cried wen 3500 people died in 9/11 over there more than that die in 1 single month. As a United Country we are spreading democracy and helping others and That is the true Meaning of Standing United as one just like every single one of u clame

AND YES they want us there my friends and other soldiers get welcomed like kings wen they get there bcuz sum iraqians actually realize that we want to help so0o0o YES THEY WANT US THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it may be because bush doesn't want to pull back because 1 he is either scared he is going to be called a coward which will lead to the u.s. being called weak or 2 because bush doesn't want to pull out yet because iraq is not undercontrol everyone over there is going wild there are still bombings there are still attacks and I think president bush wants to try and get all of that undercontrol before he pulls the troops out. But i also agree with u because I was asking myself the same question I have a family member that is in Iraq and I was thinking the iraqis don't want us there so why are we there? I don't think it is right especially because they have very young men and women over there who are dying for what? The iraqui people don't want us there but I do think those could be possible options as to why the president doesn't want to draw back.
I hope that makes sense to u.

It should have become obvious to everybody that many problems in the future will originate in the middle east, and we better seize any opportunity to get air bases, heavy equipment, and trained, experienced troops on the ground in that area so that we're ready to handle the challenge
.At the start of the Iraq war , we could hardly even get permission to fly over any other countries.
This may not be the Alice-in-Wonderland- answer you would like; but it may be the new reality.
You may be giving yourself too much credit if you think you already know the best way to fight a cowardly enemy who shoots at us from behind women, children, and the elderly.
We must protect our interests all over the world.
It won't be enough to,only, protect the U.S. from suicide bombers.

Actually the Iraqis want us there...that's why they help the soldiers to catch the bad guys. It's the terrorists trickling in from other countries that are causing alot of the problems.

actually, if you speak to many of our military who have been there -- many of the iraq people DO want us there. some areas have running water for the first time ever.... that is only ONE of the many things that our military has done for the good. unfortunately, in the US media, only the negative brings in the high $$$ and atings so -that's all most people hear. the iraq army and police want to be trained to be able to govern themselves.
remember that catch phrase - the squeaky wheel gets the grease?! well unfortunately it's squeaking so loudly it's drowning out the wheels that are turning smoothly.

Some of their people want us there some don't. Last I heard the Iraqi government wants us to stay. I'll be glad when the insurgency sees the only reason we are there is because of them. If they start playing nice we can leave...

Reality is, we didn't go there to help them as much as to help Israel. Our guys are stuck there now because more chaos would come if we just got up and left. Bush started this war without a reason and now doens't know how to end it.

Many of the Iraqis DO want us there, it's just that the media makes it seem like the opposite.
