A curved barbell, usually 12 or 14 ga. Talk to your piercer to determine the right length.. it depends on your anatomy. Your jewelery should be stainless steel or titanium, and preferably internally threaded.

Some people use a CBR instead, but it isn't nearly as much fun!

Curved barbell is usually standard jewelry for vertical hood piercings. Curved barbells or CBRs can be used for horizontal hood piercings.

Usually done at 14g or 12g (determined by you and the piercer) and the length of the jewelry is subject to your anatomy. Take the time to talk with a professional piercer and have them look at the area to get you the best suited size, gauge and style of jewelry. (Its best and easiest to answer if I can see the area, its just how it is)

For a vertical I would go with a curved barbell- like the ones for eyebrows. I have a horizontal and I have a horseshoe/ circular barbell in there.

Curved barbells are best. You can even get them with little rhinestones or lights on the ends once you've healed.
