Would anyone like to tell me how the word "gay" got to mean something bad/something you dont like?

I'm with Starflame. I detest the deliberate distortion of a fine word that was once meant to be happy and content. I refuse to use the word to describe anyone with a sexually-alternative lifestyle.

When I was young- THAT WORD meant a form of happiness!
Now no one wants to be associated with it! I'm not sure when it got to be a "bad" word.

Being gay is not bad, and I don't dislike homosexuality :-)
