HOw should I care for him in the meantime? I normally feed him twice a day. Should I do anything different? I'm crate training him, and i took him out earlier today to feed him, and he was being his usual self- jumping and running around, letting us pet him. I already fed him once today.

Take care of your dog as you normally would. He will be fine all pups get worms and since you are taking him to the vet wednesday it is not a big deal. Don't worry.
EDIT: Do not listen to anyone telling you to get an otc worm mediction it is a waste of money and your dog will be getting de- wormed at the vet in TWO days, just wait.

If your dog has worms, I would suggest getting him an over-the-counter dewormer for time being. That will take care of hookworms and roundworms if he has the (they're the most common types), but you definately need to check in with your vet for an appointment. My dog came to me from a breeder with coccidia (a type of worm) and treatment cost me very little. Once you get in to see the vet, make sure s/he does a fecal exam; that will be the best way to determine what's plaguing your pup.

My first dog had worms so bad! If you've only got to wait until Wednesday, I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. Make sure you wash your hands after handling his/her feces and do clean up after your dog. Worms are very much transferrable from dog to dog. And get wormer from a vet, the stuff they sell in stores won't kill all types of worms. Whoever said that they're common is right, any dog can get worms, just make sure you get them treated promptly!

Worms are not a big deal. Treat the dog as you normally would and see the vet for the right meds to kill the type of worms he has.

Dogs getting worms is no real big deal. Keep him away from other pets. and if your dog poops in the back yard go pick up the poop so your dog cant get to it. Then give you dog the meds the vet gives you, and follow the instructions

there's nothing that u should do different. and there are several different kinds of worms. my dog had tapeworms. with any kind of worms u should make sure that the dog doesn't lick anyones face. also make sure the dog doesn't lick anyone's hands before they eat or anything. also, if u have young children, make sure they don't go anywhere near the dog's butt or feces and if ur dog has tape worms, make sure they don't touch the little dried worms that come out of the dog's rectum.

you're worrying too much!
dogs get worms all the time, mine is being treated for them as we speak. the vet gave me 4 doses to give her every 2 weeks. most dogs are born with worms they get from their mother. don't do anything different and really stopp worrying it's not going to hurt the dog trust me.

I feed my dog twice a day at 7:00 Am and 5:00 PM, but shes a small dog you might have a bigger time lapse. I think you should brush his teeth after he eats, it will stop him from getting a lot of bacteria and help him with further diseases

If your dog has worms make sure he doesn't interact with other dogs or small children as they may spread them. Whatever your dog has contact with..make sure you thoroughly clean it when he is recovering.

Make sure anyone interacting with the dog washes their hands after petting/playing with him.
