That's a difficult thing to answer. How much of a budget do you have?

If he's on an air force base, he might not be able to get to town for shopping, so finding him whatever's hot right now might work. Find out if he took a game console with him (like a PS2 or PSP), or an mp3 player, or his CD collection. Then go to a store armed with a list of his favorites and ask the clerks what's new and hot.

Alternatively, you could get him something from home in case he's homesick - some holiday experience he might be missing while he's away, perhaps. Did you and he fight over the Christmas cookies Mom made every year? Bake him an entire batch and send it to him with a VHS tape of the big game. That'll make him popular around base!

Have a Merry Christmas; I hope you find something he likes.
