A press up or push up is a common strength training exercise performed in a prone position, i.e. while lying horizontal and face down, raising and lowering the body using the arms. They develop the pectoral muscles and triceps, with ancillary benefits to the deltoids and midsection as a whole.

A chin-up specialization program builds width and thickness to one's back, as well as promoting growth on one's biceps, brachialis, brachio-radialis and pronator teres. Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics Andreas Wecker is particularly noted for the results he has achieved from chin-ups.

Somebody said this earlier, but use both, pushups for triceps and chinups for biceps. Try to keep your regimen rounded so that you train all muscles possible.

I would do your chin ups with palms facing and then do another set with palms away.
Exercises biceps and triceps.

Do push ups as well because although there is a bit of tricep work it is at 90 degrees to the body plane and other muscles are bought into play.

So do both. Wont take long

Push-up for Triceps. Back of the arm, 2/3s of the muscle mass of upper arm.

Pull-ups for Biceps. Front of the arm, 1/3 of the muscle mass of the upper arm.

Both work the arms, but different muscles. It depends on which is a bit challenging for you. But chin-ups tend to work better as you are lifting your entire body weight versus push-ups that are lifting 3/4s of your body.

Chin-ups?

they are both good for your muscles, but work different areas. If you want to build your shoulders and biceps, then do push-ups, if you want to build triceps and forearms do the chin-ups.

both. push up gets your tricip, shoulder, chest, and mostly all your upper arm and body except for the biceps which sucks. Chin up gets mostly your arms but it really gets your bicep or tricep depending on how you do it. i would do more push up because they get more areas than chin ups.
