I'm VERY LOOSLY thinking about getting a diasy on my big toe, but I'm really worried it's going to be like getting a thousand flu shots and I'm not good with pain or needles. How does it really feel, and don't act macho and tough... tell the truth.

ok to tell you the truth, getting a tattoo on your toe is not only retarded but it is the worst spot to have a tattoo. a good tattoo artist will tell you that. any body area with extensive sweat glands is a poor choice for a tattoo. i have a high pain tolerance and got a tattoo on my back and one on my hip and neither hurt. just felt like scratching. so if you're a big baby then don't waste your time.

As a former professional tattoo artist, let me give you my opinions here:

If this is your first tattoo, the big toe is a questionable location. There are several major nerve endings that run thru this area, and will make the pain more noticable. This is in addition to the fact that most places where the bone is very close to the surface tend to "bite" a little bit more. You may want to consider putting this in a different spot (maybe above your ankle bone for instance).

Generally speaking, most tattoos feel like a bee-sting, or cat scratch that just doesn't quite go away. It will numb up after a certain amount of time, but the feeling is actually more agravating than painful. Women tend to take it a bit better than men (they generally have a higher pain threshold, considering the whole child birth thing).

From my own experiences, there's a different mentality behind getting a shot at the doctor, and getting tattooed. I am personally terrified of needles at the doctor, but not tattoo or piercing needles. I find that its more of the doctor "doing this to me", versus a tattoo artist "doing this for me", and that makes all the difference in my mind.

Getting a tattoo on an extremity (hand, foot, toes, etc.) is one of the most painful tattoos to get. Some artist won't do them because of it. Also, I think that there is a chance that it won't take as well. (Trying to remember what my husband was told, sorry!)

Also, the more "meat" there is in the tattoo site, the less it hurts. I've been tattooed on my ankle, outer leg, shoulder and boob, and I can tell you the worst one was the ankle b/c it was right there at the bone. I was so sore I thought I was dying. The other ones didn't bother me at all. I sat there and chatted with the tattoo artist the entire time.

I suggest if you still want one, get it done in a different location.

I have a small tattoo among my shoulder blades in colour. Honestly, it did not harm at ALL. You, absolutely, think some thing occurring and no, it does not think the high-quality, you are now not going to get an orgasm from it however there have been no tears. I felt a few twinges at times however rather, all my attention used to be on being topless in a tattoo retailer with folks strolling by way of. (It's OK, I have well boobs, I did not brain.) It took approximately quarter-hour and it harm for the primary few showers, variety of like if in case you have a burn or scab however after that it used to be satisfactory. The toughest side approximately getting a tattoo is selecting it out.

I have three tattoos on my feet. One of them is a toe ring, one is a dragonfly on the top of my foot, and the last is a star with flames on my big toe. Overall I have 13 tattoos and my feet and toes where by far the most painful. My advise would be to get one in a different location first so you get the "feel" of them.
Oh and didn't you just say that tattoos are for losers and that you would never get one?

It really varies to everyone. It depends on how you deal with pain and where you are getting the tattoo. If its a fatty part of the body, you will not feel too much but for example if you are getting one on your foot, where the skin is very thin, it might hurt. On the other hand, if you are getting one somewhere on your spine or around, it might hurt more.
You have to choose a trustworthy tattoo-artist as well.
Let me put it this way: waxing hurts more.

Tattoos dont hurt as much as people say.It usually only hurts for bout ten min then goes numb and you dont feel a think.A daisy on your big toe isnt to big of a tattoo so it probably wont hurt as much as one on your arm.I have 6 tattoos and i was fine with the pain. Its more anxiety and anticipation than pain. The worst part is sitting there waiting for the artist to get ready to tattoo you.

If you could imagine getting a lot of needles in your toe, thats what it feels like. I don't have one, but my friend got one when she got married, and I was with her. She said it hurt like hell. She'll never get another. I'm not good with needles or pain of anysort, so I would never consider getting any weird piercings (other then ears) and surely no tattoos.

It depends on the location on your body. I have a tattoo on my back that was very painful in some areas (over my kidney was the worst part), and not bad at all in others.

A small tattoo is over very quickly, so if you can stick it out it is well worth it (as long as you're sure about what you're getting, and where you're getting it, and you trust the artist).

I have two - one anklet of waves and another of a seaturtle just below it. Please let your artist know if you need a break. The needle doesn't go in as deep as a shot needle and the outlining part was the worst part for me. Save the aspirin for after the tattoo because they thin the blood.
