I have heard about schools being sued (I think that's right) for having Christmas pagents having to do with the birth of Christ and I just heard about a city taking down Christmas trees, not only that but God has been taken out of the Pledge of Alligence (spelling) and He will be taken off the dollar soon or He is going to be taken off the dollar and this thing having to do with the 10 commandents being taken out of the courts? What is going on? Some people I have talked to say this all points to the end times. What do you all think?

I think it is ridiculous. I am a Christian and I thought we had free speech and freedom to religion? If our four fathers didn't have a problem with this in the beginning, why is a problem now?

Last time I checked everyone or almost everyone celebrated Christmas, why are they attacking Christmas trees? Seriously now that is stupid.

I would also like to state to everyone that I wouldn't push any religion on anyone. But like someone stated in here, everyone will find out the truth in the end. And it is near, at least it looks that way but we aren't supposed to watch for it.

It is very sad, but I am not surprised. The Bible tells us these things would happen... it just makes God MORE real. Continue sharing your faith with others and fight the good fight!

Matthew 10:22
and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

This is suppose to be a secular country.
I have no prob with Christmas trees or the schools having pageants. I just say that for the parents that do have a problem should be given a choice to have their children removed from the class room, and occupied doing other fun activities.
When it comes to public places, I say be respectful of every ones religion. They should put up something for each religious celebration, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, and Sikh, etc. For those who are atheist, hey they can look the other way, or close their eyes.
I never believed in the pledge so them changing it or getting rid of it all together wouldn't bother me.

I think some of it is acceptable, being taken out of your pledge of allegence for example but some is downright stupid. I am English and over here we have had christmas trees banned before, the same thing happen in schools, even some very stupid things like Blackbooards and black sweets banned because of them being seen as racist???????????? This is what its all about and is an attemp by ethnic minorities who are mainly Islamic followers trying to get the beliefs and cultures of western nations banned but allow there beliefs and culture to have no prejudice. It is nothing to do with end times this will happen at some point which is unknown and has no way of telling when. Its all to do with Terrorism. Im not racist and accept that possibly not all muslims are terrorists but if this is the case why dont the masses stand up and be counted and prove it???? Until then i will believe what i see. I am also very un religious.

>If our four fathers didn't have a problem with this in the beginning, why is a problem now?

1) Because our founding fathers DID have a problem with it, in some of these cases. God on our money and in our pledge was added during the Cold War to show how different we were from godless communism. Learn some history!

2) For those things they were okay with, like Christmas pageants, we live in a more diverse culture now. How does it hurt us to have a nativity scenes in our churches but not in our schools? People of all religions pay taxes, so no religion should be promoted by taxpayer-funded public schools. People of a specific religion pay for religious private schools and churches, so they should promote a specific religion. Why is this hard to understand?

Well, some of the things you mention violate the separation of church and state--like public schools having Christmas pageants, especially religious ones, or the 10 Commandments hanging in court houses. That is the government endorsing one religion over another, and violates the constitution.

Some of the rest of it is just PC-nonsense (like removing Christmas trees), although I don't think that any religious accoutrement should be state-funded. However, if a community wants to donate money to have giant menorahs in the town square, I have no issue with that.

Now, about the Pledge of Allegiance and the money-issue. 1) It hasn't happened yet, it is still being argued. 2) They weren't placed there by our forefathers. "God" was added to those things in the 1950s as a sign of our government's anti-Communism attitude. They, too, violate our rights to have a government free of religion, by mandating a belief (or at least mandating the statement of a belief) in a god.

We need to have a government separate from any religion, and those who are religious deserve to have a religion without government control.

Do you know your favorite “Under god” phrase in the Pledge of Allegiance wasn’t added until 1954? Yes, that’s right only 53 year ago, no country-founding forefathers involved. Do you know when “In God we Trust” was added to the dollar? Look it up.
It will never cease to amaze me how many people like encourage a totalitarian government and religious persecution even though many of our actual forefathers left their home countries to avoid that very thing. Our society worked fine (not to mention more free) with out these things.
Religion & politics = things like the crusades & the inquisition. YEA! Those were great God would approve!

It clearly shows that non-Christians neither understand the concepts of tolerance and freedom OF religion. Christians would not get offended if a school held a Hanukkah pageant.

The freedom of religion is suppose to give everyone the right to exercise their religion freely and should not be forced to comply with any other religion. However, America is slowly becoming a supporter of freedom from religion like the Soviet Union forcing everyone to become secular in public and only to be able to exercise their beliefs within the confines of a church or home behind closed curtains. It is becoming to the point that Nativity scenes are no longer allowed to be shown in all places.

The irony of course is that all the hatred toward God and toward religion comes not from any religious people but rather atheists and agnostics who are secular.

Well, I am not a Christian so I would NOT like my children to be forced into any Christian rituals in school (If I ever have any). We have to be sensitive to the fact that not everyone is a Christian. (Although I think we SHOULD keep G-d in the Pledge of Allegiance)

Additional Details:
Well, I DON'T celebrate Christmas, I DON'T have a Christmas tree (i don't like them, nor will i ever) and the founding fathers build this country in a time where non-Christians were oppressed.
Also, I ALREADY found the "truth" out by myself, thank you!

Come on, I don't force people to light Menorahs!

RE: to phoenix_slayer2001uk: Yes, I HAVE seen Christians get offended by Channukka and Menorahs.

God will never be taken out of the pledge of allegiance as long as I am saying it!!!!!
This not only points to the end times, but also to the pending judgment of the USA. If we do not return to Gods ways in this country very soon we will be invaded by a foreign country and held captive just as the Israelites in the Old Testament.
Have you ever noticed that the USA is nowhere to be found in the Book of Revelation?

You will find many who applaud this. They want a secularized society. Chances are that the Pledge wont be changed, and our Money will likely remain as it is.

The real threat is the removal of open references to God, and faith in the Public Square. This will increase until we stand up, and use the only weapon we have; The Right to Vote ! We must put Christian Conservatives in Office, we must ONLY Vote for Christian Conservatives, and reject anyone who doesn't stand for what we believe in.

I for one think these things that have been done are the beginning of the end of our country that is known as one that God has favored. I am an older person, and all the days of my school life we said the pledge and the Lords prayer, and I can not belive how they can be so ignorant.
