he's had a headache for 2 weeks now. first his ear lobes got big, then his knees got swollen. he went to the doctor, the doctor said it was an ear infection so he took some medicine. then after a few days the swollen knees went away, the ear lobes became un swollen too but he still had a headache. so he went to the emergency room, went to a hospital, now he went to another hospital and they say its a virus. theyre doing blood tests for a number of things, i dont know what for.
he got an mri and a cat scan, i dont think the results came in yet
so now, he says he cant hear too well and he still has a bad headache.
does anyone know what this could be?
i think a headache for 2 weeks is a little odd.

I don't know what it is but my mom had the same thing a few weeks ago. Lasted almost 3 weeks total. She had swollen red joints and a headache. Then it went away just as fast as it came. A week later my sister got it, too. Hers didn't last as long but said the headache was killer.
Both went to the Dr. when it first started and both were told the same thing.. it is a virus and just has to run its course.

I sure hope your dad starts to feel better soon and that the test results come back ok.
I can't even imagine having a headache that long.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

check his blood pressure over the range of 140/90 is considerd hypertension, this if left untreated and raises higher 170/190/200 area cant lead to a stroke or heart attack, also bad, persistant headaches can be a sign of potential anyerism. good luck.
