Okay I want another dog, but my dad said no.We already have two dogs. I want it to be a small dog like a Mini long haired Doxien. But my dad wants a Dobermen Pincher. And I think I should have a say in this. How could I talk to my dad about seeing my point of view? And what are some ideas of small dogs that are really cute?

Let him know that Dobermans are very noise sensitive and that you don't think it would fit into your family's lifestyle.

Then give your dad five or six choices of dog that fit your lifestyle. I would also speak with your dad, maybe he wants a dog that has guarding ability - loads of small dogs fit this requirement. I think you should meet him at least half way.

how about a miniature Pinscher. They are a toy dog, but looks a lot like a Dobermen Pincher

A good compromise could be a Manchester Terrier (toy variety as well) or a Miniature Pinshcer. Both are small and look like Dobermans. So you'll get the size you want and your Dad will get the look that he wants.
Research any breed you're thinking about first and make sure it's right for you and your lifestyle.

Compromise. Suggest getting a miniature pincher, or a toy manchester terrier or something. And research the breed of dog before you get it, so you know if their personality fits with your families life style.

Unless you can legally and afford to be on your own respect your parents' wishes on what kind of dog they want to add to the family. It is their home, their money, and they will be the ones taking care of the dog when the kids interested in the new dog has weaned.

There are also many more important factors to selecting a breed or individual dog to add to your home than what is cute.

i agree with smurf, until you are able to live on your own, you parents have the final say in what comes and goes.

the ONLY small breed of dog that i like is the schipperke
pronounced skipper key. they are TOTALLY black, small 12-14 inches, high energy, protective, and DON'T BARK CONSTANTLY. Again, you should research any breed that you are thinking about.

Bichons Frise are the smallest, cutest dogs. I have one and i've thoroughly pleased. They need LOTS of human affection.

i say you ask him to go to the pound and find a dog you both agree on.
that way you can get your new pet and save a life too.
