I think some dogs to that because they mistake throw rugs for those puppy pee pee pads they were trained on as puppies.

When they were puppies everyone went crazy happy if they peed on it. I do not believe that a dog can distinguish between a puppy puddle pad and an expensive throw rug, they are all just squares on the floor to the dog.

Talk to your Vet about this stuff you can get... I think it might be called No Go or something like that. You may be able to find it at Wal-Mart, I have seen it there before. You are supposed to spray it where ever you don't want the animal mess or chew. It is odorless and doesn't stain. Some feed stores carry it. I have never used it but have been told it works really well.

I am sure you aware of the fact that dogs are territorial! What is it you don't understand? I am a dog owner and have been for years. This is the way they mark their territory. She is marking her house! She is marking you so that other dogs know you belong to her!!!!!.You and I don't understand it but it is fact. My boyfriend and I have had a lot of conflict over this. He says he is sick of this house smelling like a kennel. I say the day my dog stops marking him, it's time to leave because he no longer belongs to either of us. It is a question of protection. Make up your mind. That is her way of protecting you. How much do you Love her. It has nothing to do with being house broken. It's all about loyalty!!! Yours as well as hers! I had my dog before I had him. That dog prevented me from being raped. Which one should I let pee on me the next time!!!!!!!

Re-start your housebreaking training with your dog. If it will select what it's willing to pee on around the house it means your dog is smarter than you'd like to admit and is not housebroken.
