Yes he has Free will that is why he got himself kick out of heaven
Because he want to take Gods place, It is like a lot of people these days who think that they are better than God Himself

Both Peter and Judas betrayed Jesus. Yet why did Judas die an ugly death on a potter's field and Peter became a father of the early church? After he denied Jesus three times, Peter was so ashamed he left the ministry and went back to fishing. Jesus after the resurrection sought him out to restore him to ministry. Peter was repentant and chose to do good. It is said that Peter died crucifed upside down because he felt he was unworthy to die as Jesus did.
Satan continues to try to destroy God's creation and the means for his destruction, which according to the prophecy comes from the lineage of Adam (Jesus).

Satan routinely does good. The Bible warns that he disguises himself as an Angel of light. Or a Wolf in sheeps clothing.

I was satans free will that got him kicked out of heaven. he willfully tried to usurp the authority of GOD and lost.

The mystery of iniquity.... It is refered to in the bible. That is one of the things we will find out. I am not sure and do yourself a favor and do not dwell on it. We do not have enough information to do anything more than speculate.
