I always drink that Dasani flavored water that's sweetened with Splenda, then my mom pointed it out to me and said that might be why I feel lightheaded sometimes. I looked it up online, and the overall answer seemed to be a 'it's probably bad for you, but there's no official proof.'

Can anyone recommend flavored water that isn't sweetened with Splenda or sucralose? I'm trying to eat/drink healthier and stay away from caffeine and other stuff, lol.

www.thetruthaboutsplenda.com, it has tons of chlorine in it, what do you think? If you like lemon water then make your own, just buy lemons and squeeze lemon juice in your own bottled water.

The truth is that nobody knows. Are the studies giving the subjects 'normal' amounts of Splenda? Could it be somethng else causing the cancer? Splenda hasn't been around long enough to really know. Personally, I try to eat as much natural food as possible. Sugar isn't a bad thing when eaten in moderation - just like everything else. Of course, if you're diabetic, or have some other reason not to eat sugar, then you're looking for something to substitute. It is my opinion that Splenda is probably the least toxic of the options. But if you are just dieting, it's probably best to simply limit your intake of sweets, learn to drink your tea/coffee without it, and eat a balanced diet. Also, natural foods are probably your best bet in either case, since there are more nutrients in less food, and there are fewer 'bad' fats and toxins in food that is as close to it's original form as possible. You don't have to be a 'food nazi' about it, just make wise choices when you have the opportunity and indulge on rare occasions.

I would say it's as bad for you as anything else in high doses that's been man made or man manipulated and that's everything on the planet we consume. The water we drink (even bottled), food we eat fresh and packaged(pesticides and too much sodium), air we breathe (pollution) are all man manipulated. We are instructed to eat lots of fruits and veggies that contain pesticides that cause cancer. We are instructed to drink at least 64-80 ounces of water each day that has been processed in a plant somewhere. We breathe air that is supposed to be fresh but really isn't because everyone drives and pollutes the air with the gasoline that's processed in a refinery that sends pollutants into the air and water. I use splenda pretty much on a daily basis but in moderation. I might have 1 soda and 1 piece of candy a few times a week. I don't make my whole diet everyday consist of lots of items containing splenda.

If you want to eat healthier, I would avoid anything that's processed in extremes from it's natural state. Stick with fresh meats and seafood, fresh fruits, fresh veggies, dried beans and peas, natural breads, and plain water. Don't eat anything from a can, box, or plastic wrap except plain pasta or rice. That's what I do and the most you can to eat as healthy as possible.

I know that some people get migraines for Splenda. Any sweetener that is man made is not good for you.

If you listen to everyone then everything is bad for you. All I know because that all I ever hear, this is bad, that is bad. Heck try Honey to sweeten your water, but, sooner or later, someone going to say it bad for you. My Grandmother live to be 103, dang, I guess she died because of my Pecan Pies I made her with REAL sugar.

I HATE SPENDA/SUCRALOSE, etc..... Me and my daughters don't drink it because it gives us a headache in about 10 minutes of consuming it. Also because we think it tastes vile. Actually we all prefer plain ole Sweet-n-low which is Sacharin.....now I now you will find plenty of sites tell you it created cancer in lab mice....but if you look a little deeper you'll find that the ONE laboratory that did that gave such a high dose that a human probably wouldn't consume in one life time. Also within the last ten years the whole cancer THEORY was totaly debunked.
