It depends on his ability to look at a woman. If he is the snobby, stuck-up, women belong in the kitchen type, u probably dont want to fool with him anyway, but if he is respectable, kind, and understandable, then just get to know him a little, then just ask him, if he likes u, he'll say yes, if not, well maybe u two can be friends and something will possibly develop later on or u can find another guy. make sure you let know everybody around your life you are available, must guys think all pretty girls are taken, after that ask yourself to all the nice guys you like if the are available, do some research about the true of his response and ask him to be your boyfriend. There is nothing wrong about a woman to ask, if you don't feel confident enough to do it, than be very sexy and nice with that person, he will fall in your arms. Good luck. Its all up to you.

show ur confident and can hav fun with stuff u like to do
if u fake anything then ull get a boyfriend who isnt ur type at all
dont get so caught up in the fact of having a boyfriend cuz trust me it isnt as great as it seems

Look attractive, be yourself. Ask a guy out every once and a while. Present yourself as available. If your attractive most often a guy is going to think your taken.

first flirt around him to get him to know that you like him. then get to know each other( if you don't know already). and maybe go to the movies or get a milkshake ect like a date. then ask him out or if your lucky enough and he really likes you he will ask you out
