OLD VARNISH The properties have broken down try using a hair dryer .

It might not be the varnish alone...it could be taking longer to dry to the the humidity in you area....on the day you are doing the varnishing

I'm guessing that you used it directly from the can. If that is the case then just give it time and it will dry, depending on how thick you applied it i could take a couple of days. Before your next application try thinning it (if it is oil based) with mineral spirits (about 25%). If it has frozen or is more than a year of two old, them throw it out and purchase new

thin it with mineal spiits apply thin coats ....fo evry cup of varnish use one eighth cup thinner
