The door opens to the east so to respect the rising sun.13 poles for the main structure. 2 poles for the wind flaps
1 obedience
2.respect
3. humility
4. happiness
5 love
6. faith
7.kinship
8.cleanliness
9.thankfullness
10.share
11.strength
12.good child rearing
13.Hope
14 and 15 ultimate protection

Where the poles are bound is representative of relationship / strength.
There are 14 pins fastening the seam above the door which represent keeping the family in tact.
The base is foundation of value.
The hides which make up a traditional tipi represent / are warmth and protection.
Where the poles are free at the top this is a place of honour.
Sheathed and dried deer hooves are attached to the pole's top and blow in the wind to keep dark spirits away. I believe this will be of assistance.
