If your happy with the shape and color of your teeth, then braces are your best option but you will have to wear some type of retention device for the rest of your life because all teeth will eventually move. Length of treatment is what people complain the most about and wearing the retainer system with braces, I know you didn't ask about braces but if the teeth are just crooked, braces are the treatment of choice. Now the pros of veneers, they can change shape, color and straightness in less than three weeks. Cons, tooth death, tooth sensitivity, bite problems, wear problems, and a life span of 10 to 20 years on avg. They can break, they are made of glass, but do I have one? yes. If you have minimal problems then braces are still best treatment, I had a fault down the middle of my canine and I was tired of the plastic filling staining and looking like I had a racing stripe down the middle of my tooth, so I had it covered with porcelain. Oh this is another pro of porcelain, it resist stain better than plastic fillings. Just remember nothing last forever except prevention, once treatment begins, it never ends.

Without flossing food, plaque and bacteria are stuck between your teeth and eats away at the enamel. Flossing prevents the build up between teeth thus preventing cavities. There is a ton of research supporting this. Dentists don't make extra money for getting you to buy floss, so I don't see why they'd make it all up.

I think they have to shave down your original teeth b4 putting them on. I had just my front tooth done like that for a bridge and it was awful, they left me with a stub for a tooth which was covered by a bridge, i still have nerve pain to this day after 15 years!!
