Well the schools she has been applying to are asking why she has chosen PA over Nursing, or even medical school, or other allied health fields. I've given her advice and she's stated her reasons for choosing that path. But could someone please help and provide us with some insight about PA and some reasons for choosing this path rather than another health field? Thanks for the help.

My mother is a PA - she was originally an LPN, then a RN, then a PA. As far as I know, a PA is as close as you can get to being a doctor without actually being an MD, and without the hassle of malpractice, etc. to the degree that the doctor's get it.

I don't know why you'd be against it - it's an admirable choice, and as comprehensive as you can get short of going to actual med school for a M.D.
