You might talk to the airline, they might have some ideas of what is allowed or available on long duration flights. I'd say lots of sugarless gum type items for one thing. Books, small game machines, the cheap type. Mp3 players with a spare set of headphones. Some antihistamines. Look lets be frank some kids just can't settle down when they get excited, anti histamines are a great non addictive over the counter sleep aid. The one thing I would do after getting to your destination....is find a park someplace and let the kids run around a bit so they can blow off some of their pent up energy..

Well, I would ask what length of flight that you are taking. Longer flights seem to go by faster when I watch a movie or two. Shorter flights seem to "fly by" with a good word search or Suduko book. If you like to read, a solid book works well! Of course, the best answer is a nap... but naps are tough to conquer while sitting on an airplane! Good luck!

i flown on more than 20 planes this year alone and the best things besides ipods, watching movies, GOOD books and crosswords is talking to the person sitting next to you. If they look half decent. They are generally half as bored as you and would love to talk esp. with a few drinks.

Take some nyquil before hand and sleep. Just make sure if you have a connecting flight someone wakes you up.

I usually nap, read, play video games and watch movies for longer flights(about 6 hrs or more).

For shorter flights(less than 6 hrs), I just nap or read.
