My ex and I hae been through so much the past year.. We decided to be good friends still but the past months haven't been right. Her new boyfriend and I aren't on the best of terms.. I hate the guy.. I know that if they are still together I can't be happy.. but not seeing her still wont make me happy. Everyday, I go through so much pain and hurt and i feel this is my chance to end our friendship and try to be happy without her.. I know leaving is the best thing to do.. anybody have a similar situation

Move on, move on, move on! You don't have to be mean or rude about it, just firm. It's great that you tried to be friends, but it's clearly not beneficial and is causing more pain than not. Maybe after some time and healing has occured, you can see about a friendship. You have to take care of yourself, no else will. Good luck.

I think you guys could still be friends but you have to get it in our head that she has moved on and you should do the same. So find yourself someone and not to make her jealous but to actually be with, let your feelings die down for her (although I know hand on that its easier said than done but it is possible) and continue your friendship. If you feel that it is impossible for you to move on know (which is understandable) you have to distance yourself form her it may be hard but for your peace of mind you have to do it, keep yourself busy, find other activities to do to replace the time you would be spending with her.
