Teachers do not fail kids in art because they are not talented. They fail them because they are not trying.

Art is one of those subjects you either love or you hate, there doesn't seem to be much of an in between road as far as it's concerned. The best advice if you have to stay in the class (as in, it's required) is to try your hardest and complete every assignment on time. If the assignment asks you to complete multiple tasks, complete all of the tasks to the best of your ability. You actually can improve your art skills in specific areas, if you practice them again and again like anything else. So, your teacher will notice gradual improvement, and will reward you with improving grades, if your teacher is reasonable. If your teacher doesn't seem to notice even minor improvements, try being honest with your teacher, let him or her know that you don't feel that you are very good at art, and ask if there are any ways to improve your grade. Some art teachers will let students turn in writing assignments for extra credit when they express difficulty towards art assignments, just a suggestion, can't hurt to ask.

im in art also and all u really have to do to pass the class is try ur hardest. if u r pic that u dosn't look perfect at least u tried ur hardest to make it perfect. maybe if u can u can get a schedle change and change out of art class if u don't like it. the reason she gave u a good grade on one project is because she knos u tried and it dosn't have to look as good as she draws it. i was like u at first i thought i sucked at everything i drew and i wanted her to help me draw it. well she kept saying that i was doing good and nobody draws exactly the same as one person. at the time i thought i was bad at art was because i was comparing my art to my friends art so i thought i sucked at it. just keep trying ur best and she will see that and won't fail u.

It sounds like you have no confidence in yourself. The teacher would not have given you a good grade if she thought your project was bad. Sure maybe art is not your thing and you may be better at othe subjects. Stop putting yourself down.

Hey don't worry, I was the exact same way in my art class. I am no artist at all and just as you said, my teacher knew it. I just had to get on her good side and ya know, 'brown nose" a little, lol. I don't like art so I just got my 2 art credits, passed with a C and I was fine! It'll be okay...

Not really sure what your question is, but I wouldn't sweat the grade. Seriously, not everybody is talented at art, and the teacher should understand that. As long as you are putting forth your best effort, you will do okay.

Well, one good thing, you don't have to go to summer school or repeat the grade for failing art....

You should be fine--many of us, if not most, are challenged in this area. If you are really concerned talk to your parents and/or teacher. Check on your grade, and if you aren't happy, ask what you can do to improve it before the end of the year. Good luck!
