They wrote back saying that He didn't promise that, but I found this verse (Genesis 8:21): "And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every living thing, as I have done." But in Revalations 21:1, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." Comments?

God did say that he would not destroy the earth with a flood again but He did not say that he would never destroy the earth. Look at II Peter 3:10 -13--But the day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise and the element shall melt with a fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness. Looking for and hastening unto the coming of the day of God, where in the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.

sea is symbolic a lot of Revelation is symbolic the answerers to the symblolism exsist in the prior 65 books in the bible read learn meditate and pray for understanding thats the only way it will come.

Hundreds of years before John’s day, Jehovah had said to Isaiah: “For here I am creating new heavens and a new earth; and the former things will not be called to mind, neither will they come up into the heart.” (Isaiah 65:17; 66:22) This prophecy was initially fulfilled when faithful Jews returned to Jerusalem in 537 B.C.E. after their 70-year exile in Babylon. In that restoration, they formed a cleansed society, “a new earth,” under a new governmental system, “new heavens.” The apostle Peter, however, pointed to a further application of the prophecy, saying: “But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell.” (2 Peter 3:13) John now shows that this promise is fulfilled during the Lord’s day. “The former heaven and the former earth,” Satan’s organized system of things with its governmental structure influenced by Satan and his demons, will pass away. The turbulent “sea” of wicked, rebellious mankind will cease to exist. In its place will be “a new heaven and a new earth”—a new earthly society under a new government, God’s Kingdom.—Compare Revelation 20:11.

Let's go back to the Flood for a minute. I find it abhorrent that God would destroy every creature on the planet in order to punish one species. Why would you kill all the deer or bison or field mice because of something that man did? What did an eagle or a fox or a lizard have to do with that? Does this sound like a loving God? What rational being goes out of his way to destroy all for the sake of rebuking one? It doesn't make any sense. It makes God look like a spoiled child or worse. What a horrible story!

Hi, I am not a theologian but I recall the passage where God said,Never again will I destroy the earth by flood and something like `See I set my bow in the sky as a promise that never again will I destroy etc, if God has to punish the world again it seems that He will use fire of the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 8 tells it like it is. Revelations is about mortal man and the sea (mortal thought) passes away, because the real spiritual man appears, the image of God.

He will not destroy with a flood again. That is where the rainbow comes in. He sent the rainbow as a promise not to destroy the world with water. The next time it will be with fire.
