I have longish hair, but the only styles i do is down or in a pony tail. Have you got any good suggestions, if so, with an explanation of how i put it in the style.

my hair is probably around medium length and is curly, but some of my favourite hairstyles are

1) ponytail
Simply ponytail. Or you can have the sideswept bangs down or pulled back in an 80's mod style(that's always cute). One of my favourite ponytail hairstyles, is parting the front bangs off on either side, and then french braiding each side down to the ear following the hair line(i hope that makes sense :p ). You can always go with the messy bun too. Or you can pull it up in a ponytail and and braid the free hair in the pony.

2) half up half down
These are always cute, and sometimes an easy quick fix. To dress up the "half up half down" you can use a barrette instead of a rubberband. You can also wear a headband. But don't try too many accesories at once lol

3) pulling just the front middle section from the top of the forehead back and pinning it
I always thought this looked adorable on other people, but if you have a cowlick in the front hairline(like me) it can look kinda funny ;)

4) braiding
You can braid you hair many different ways, all looking good. The two french braids, the fishtail braid, the origanal braid, etc.

its also good to wear your hair down quite a bit to let it relax so your hair doesn't get too damaged from being pulled back tight.

I hope this helps, and if you want other hair ideas, you can always try www.seventeen.com they usually have good ideas for all hair types!

good luck and i hope this helped!

This is good for when you need something a bit posh - but doing it yourself can make your arms ache, so get someone to help!

Take a large section of the hair on your crown and put it in a ponytail, so you're leaving about an inch worth of hair all round your head, front, sides and back. Twist the hair in the ponytail and pin it into a bun shape. Then curl all the remaining hair, run your fingers through it and then pin it back loosely around and over the bun - make sure the pins are well hidden, don't pull it tight and don't worry about tucking the ends of the curls in, it's meant to look soft and slightly dishevelled. Pull a few tendrils out around the face to make it softer if you like.

It is possible to do this yourself, but it's worth practising a few times so you can get it right.

I have long hair too and I like to put it in a sort of high pony tail, then fold the ponytail upwards making a little 2-3 inch loop, and then i put a hair band around the loop to hold it like that. The rest of the hair falls around it and looks really cute.

Sorry it's hard to explain but it's a nice quick solution and gives me a cute, short-hair look for a change.

Place your hair in 2 ponytails, one at the crown and one just above the nape of the neck. get a small piece of hair from one of the tails and roll it into a loop/hoop loosly around your fingers. use a hair grip/pin to put in place. repeat this with random pieces of hair until all the hair is pinned up. spray lightly with hairspray afterwards to hold in place.

Get some chopsticks for hair from claires etc then you can twist your hair up at the back & stick them in. Really easy but pretty & the card they come on usually gives you instructions

scoop it up like you're going to put it in a pony tail, then before you put the hair tie around it twist your hair and put it around kinda sorta like a bun put make your hair kinda sorta stick up at the top....

make into 8 sections and twist each section up and use hairpins and lots of strong hold hairspray to hold in place.

its really easy should take about 30mins and it looks really nice.
