No, curling irons work best on damp to dry hair. I usually air/blow dry a lil while before I curl. Curling wet hair would be a waste of time, it won't hold the curl, and could burn you. I wouldn't think of electrocution, that is what ground/fault outlets are for. They do have irons for wet hair, I have seen them, but ummm wouldn't really think they'd be a good choice.

I know that you can buy straightening irons that are especially for wet hair -- I have one and it works great (and I use it to flip the ends of my hair) and skips the blow drying step. It has steam vents that basically let you steam iron your hair.

They may make curling irons like that too.

But it still works better when your hair is dry, since any leftover moisture will relax the curl.

Why would anyone want to use a curling iron on wet hair?

Hey Greensock, after I read the above answers I just wanna say sorry for all the sarcasm, it is so rude. I'm sure you didn't mean sopping wet hair, just damp. It isn't good to do on damp hair, it will wreck your hair. What I do is I'll wash my hair at night, then just curl it in the morning when it's dry OR wash it in the morning then curl it before I go out at night!

No, if you try it you would be lucky enough not to get electrocuted. If you went through that and are still alive, your hair will by fried and the curls won't hold anyways. It's best to try on wet hair.

Heck no!!!!!! First water and electricity do not go together and secondly the hair if it even curls will be flat.

i wouldn't try it if I were you. My first choice would be to air dry it, if you don't have time or want to do that blow dry or sit under the dryer and at least get most of the water out of your hair.

I hope this helps!!

No, If you use it on wet hair it won't be effective I have tried it before and it doesn't work you need to blow dry your hair or let it air dry before you curl it.
