I happen to think the stigma is somewhat similiar. I feel somewhat ashamed to admit I'm a virgin and have had some teasing about it from people. It seems that a guy is always looked up to if he has had a lot even though I've heard attitudes about that are changing. But I still hear a lot of 'S.lut Talk' and mainly from women. It seems like this: guy who hasn't slept around gets derided for being a virgin, gal that sleeps around gets derided as a s.lut.

Err.. how old are you? What other ppl think of your sexual status is not really any of their business. The only person that counts when you want to have sex is the person you want to be with at the time *shrug*

So what if someone sleeps around? It's their own choice and it's up to them to deal with the consequences of their actions. It's the power of choice . Don't let stranger's opinions affect what you choose to do with your virginity.

You are oh-so-right about the double standard!!I don't really agree tho, that the stigma is similar.I think it is much worse for the woman because this wanton behavior is almost universally looked down on whereas in the case of the virgin, there are many people that would respect this choice. And that's the point, if the being a virgin is a choice rather than the fact that he "cant get any"Guys that sleep around may be admired by some similar or wannabe type characters but Women don't exactly love them!

This is more of a person choice then a refference, but in my experience i liked being with a male virgin over being with a guy who has been around the block. I was able to teach him what i liked in bed, and not what he thought i liked, or what other women he had been with had liked. When your ready, take the time to really get to know your partner and make each other happy....... and for god sakes don't take notes on how to make love from porn video's. That's not sexy!!

It is a shame that you have to feel this way. We as human always have to label people to make ourselves feel comfortable and in control. Being a virgin is a wonderful thing for a man, It shows discipline, self-control and respect for yourself and women. And guess what, just like you stated, you can't have one without the other. Good luck and stay the cool, cuz you're hot and everyone that knows you, know that.

IT's just that the majority of society shuns virgin men. I for one would be happy to fall in love with a virgin guy. I don't want him comparing me to other women, that is what causes insecurities and inhibitions. I'm waiting til I marry. I prefer virgin guy but if he is not a virgin then he better not have too mileage on him or I am going to question his character.

No, I think it is cool for a guy to be a virgin. Or to have had very, very few lovers. Though that might be a *little* weird past the age of, say, 25 or so. But I could still understand it.

"Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so." -William Shaekespeare

Stop judging yourself and don't buy into other people's judgment of you. Avoid contentious, gossiping and judgmental persons and you will feel a lot better about others, life and yourself.

Your sex life is your business. You share it on your terms and when you are comfortable and ready. Never be ashamed of who you are or what you do. If you do something that you are ashamed of, don't punish or fret yourself, choose something different next time.

Be true to yourself and avoid comparing yourself to others. Judging others hurts you, when you judge you may feel better than one person and worse than another. This is an unstable way to live. Observe others without criticism. They may live and do differently than you. Learn from them and choose the path that is true for you.

That's a great question. It's all about society and how we see the 2 sexes.

If you're a male virgin - I'd say it makes you seem inexperienced, but respectful. There has to be a reason you've decided to stay abstinant....usually it's a good one!

No! This is a stupid stereotype and I hope you have the courage not to give into it. There is no reason why guys who sleep around are any "cooler" than a girl who sleeps around. You're guy friends might high five you for ten seconds but for ten years of your life you'll regret it.
