You can eat too many of anything. I wouldn't recommend eating too much broccoli, it will wreck havoc on your digestive system! Too much fruit tends to give you the runs! Everything in moderation.

I would recommend steaming your vegetables if your going to cook them. Cooking some vegetables in water makes the water soluble vitamins (like A and C) seep out into the water out of the vegetable. Steaming them is a way to make them soft without taking nutrients out.

The meal you described can be healthy depending on the way everything was cooked. Was the chicken grilled or fried? Are the veggies raw or steamed or lathered in butter? Was the rice cooked with spices or butter? See what I'm getting at? What you've described is a healthy meal as long as the food was cooked right.

Raw vegetables are healthier than cooked, because the nutrients are preserved.

Veggies (preferably a salad), brown rice and chicken is a very healthy meal.
Just make sure you get daily variety: salads with different color vegetables, baked fish.

You can never, ever eat too many fruits and vegetables, as long as you get a colorful variety. Stay away from the same ones on a daily basis.

How dumb can someone get... "the cooked vegetables are much healthier." WHAT? Quick check of common sense....uh, NO. Raw is healthier but I agree with the use of a steamer. I just bought one as a gift at Target for $30. I already have one and LOVE it. You get the better taste and softness of cooked without cooking out all the vitamins. Chicken is much healthier when it's skinless and grilled rather than say, fried with the skin on.

Eating whole unprocessed foods are better than eating a lot of food that has tons of preservatives in them.

When I eat veggies as a snack, I like to wash and blanche them in hot water for a couple of minutes, then cool them over cold water, refrigerate them and then enjoy them as a snack with ranch dip. It's much easier on the stomach and easier for your body to digest them if they are slightly cooked.

Cooking veggies too much can deplete them of the vitamins and minerals. Steaming is a good alternative, but you can overcook them by steaming as well.

enable's purely say constipation will now not be an argument. For further information, seek "uncooked ingredients + juicing + detox or cleansing" or study something by using Paavo Airola, and others, ie Jethro Kloss, The Hypocrites Institute and so on.
