Through art - express yourself through writing, or music, dance, or art.

Yo yo yo! When talking is in small doses, be nice and use humor. Integrate pop-culture into your style of talking, and try to emphasize any mis-match between yourself and the pop-culture you're emulating. As an example for extremely white people: once in a while, add a yo at the end of a sentence, yo.

Adopt a fake ego for humorous effect, but add some humbling elements to let people know you're kidding. (Ex: "Well, that's because I'm the coolest and smartest person... at least in this room. And my mom says I'm handsome.")

Try to act like you're somebody else. A lot of stage performers take on a different persona to overcome performance anxiety (David Bowie, 99% of Nu Metal bands, etc...).

I understand you fully and it is really hard and when your mates are so confident and loud its reall hard to get heard over the top of them. I am just learning myself and you know what i am 28 i have had that problem since school times. but now i know that its a problem to me i just keep saying to myself i am confindent i am confindent, i know this might sound physco but really if you want to break the cycle then you just need to encourge your self coz really your mates aint going to stop there lifes just to wait for you to say somethink. know that i am over this i am quite straight up and can tell people exactly what i think and feel and just feel that i can talk much more easier. it will come to you. but also you got to think been silent is not going to get me any where in life. Maybe you have a confindence course in your country

I too used to be the silent type, until I had got a job, which involved a lot of telephone work, this gave me a lot of confidence, as on the phone I could be anyone I wanted.

All you need is to increase your confidence, you need to do this in your own little way.

I find, using jokes and play fully picking on them helps, it gets you noticed and they fight back, play fully too. (I'd do this more with the opposite sex). However, I tend to do this with a lot of my colleagues, especially my boss, such as picking on him, because of his football team.

And before people say, picking on your boss will get youy no where, I am now in his position, while he too has been promoted.

I am as silent as most people go, so when you do talk, I have found people will be shocked when they hear you so they will notice when you say something. Say what you want, don't be like me...silent and unnoticed or as I like to say silent but deadly.

I love expressing myself through photography, writing, dancing, and by decorating within my own space. I've often been called "quiet" which seemed like an insult to me, but us "quiet" types have our strengths too, we're just not screaming it out relentlessly. Find what you enjoy and let it flow.

Be it short and to the point, you should let yourself be heard!! If you feel that you have a more outspoken side, give it a try. Just be yourself, but the quiet tend to get taken advantage of.

u r what u r...don't insist on becoming someone else...there's absolutely nothing wrong with being the silent type.I,for one, find them incredibly mysterious and intriguing and am so drawn to them.
