I'm with The Dude -- no way.
I don't let evangelical pastors, mormons, jehovah's witnesses, etc. anywhere near my house -- only people who think get in, and they don't qualify. :)

It depends how well the person knows that particular pastor or priest. I wouldn't have a problem letting an evangelical pastor, a Catholic priest or a seminarian babysit my teenage son.... the only problem is that I don't have one LOL... but if I did, why not if I know those people well enough and trust my instincts? I mean, to be fair, not everyones a Ted Haggard or paedophile. I would sense it if the pastor is the sort of person that gives young teenage boys a private massage.

My teenage son is 6' and is on the varsity wrestling team. For fun he lifts weights before school. He doesn't need a babysitter but I would feel fine leaving him with anyone.lol. I think by the age of 13 your kids should be old enough to say NO and also to know what to do in those situations. We are talking about someone trying to witness to them right?

When I am old enough to have children I would hope that my teenage son would not be in need of a babysitter.

Now, now...the man who started the Christian coalition said in a interview that the paster who was defrocked due to the gay prositute and drug charges was still a good christian and a friend. He just needed to work his problems out with God. Even though the same paster was very vocal against gay rights.
Go figure!

Yes! A teenage son would be considered too old to be sexually desireable.

I wouldn't let anyone stay with my kids that I didn't personally know to be an upstanding person. Pastor, groc clerk, lawyer, judge, car salesman, boy scout leader........you should never leave your child with someone you don't know.
I do pray for anyone who does watch my kids....I pray that God gives them wisdom and love and watch over them so that they treat my kids as only He would.
Pray....God listens!
