There are directions on the package, and they're pretty clear about how to insert them.

It shouldn't hurt. If it does, try shifting the angle. You might try "aiming" it toward your belly button, if your belly button were on your back instead of your front. That helped me the first time.

Something else I did wrong the first time? I didn't realize there was an applicator to be removed! Ouch!

Try reading the directions and follow them carefully. It should NOT hurt if inserted correctly. Since you are a teen you should probably try a teen size or a smaller size tampon. I know O.B. made teen sizes and I trust Playtex the most. Helpful hint: on heavy days it is a smart idea to wear a panty liner with your tampon just in case things are too much. Also change them often because if you don't you can get sick if it is left in too long. If you still have questions about it you should give your doctor a call and they can explain things better.

If you are afraid of it hurting, use Platex to start off with. The applicator is easy to use and it shouldn't hurt you any. Though, my experience w/platex is the coverage isn't that good and you end up wearing a pad AND a tampon.

If you can bear it, use the "regular" size of Tampax w/the cardboard applicators. The coverage is great (no leaking) - but I would suggest wearing a small panty liner. If you use the regular size, it shouldn't hurt...as long as you're wet down there(which you should be if you're on your pd). If the regular isn't acceptable for your flow, use the "Super" kind.

A tampon is a relatively small thing to insert into your vagina. It really shouldn't hurt you at all but I can understand you being scared, so start off with Playtex and then graduate to Tampax once you're finally comfortable using tampons.

Follow the instructions on the box, they are clear and easy. Also, I preferred the tampons with the plastic applicators as they slid easier...start with a slim variety until you are comfortable inserting and wearing them...

The instructions will typically tell you to put one foot up (like on the side of the tub or the closed toilet bowl), then insert the tampon while angling it toward your lower back (not straight up)...push is slowly and easily until it is as far in as the applicator will get it...then remove the applicator and all that should be left is the string hanging, for ease of removal later...

Sometimes, if your flow is not heavy, there might be some minor discomfort with removal if the tampon is a bit dry...it will resist coming out and drag but it's not a big deal and for me that was usually a sign my period was about over...

First of all, they don't hurt. And if they did, so many women wouldn't be using them. I've been using tampons since I was in High School (which was over 9 yrs ago) and not once have they ever hurt me. But try to avoid the cardboard applicators. They don't hurt but they are definatley uncomftorable. Try Tampax Pearl and just follow the little insert instructions. Easy as pie.

Stick it in as far a your pinkie can reach and push the tube thing and the tampon will enter. If it hurts, then you didn't put it in far enough. Pull the string and throw it away and try again. And make sure that the string is hanging out because if it isn't, it will be hard to get it out.
And you might feel it inside of you if you walk down some stairs. But it's okay.

Well the best advice would be start off with applicator tampons. And to relax.

Make sure you are comfortable and either squatting or one leg on the toilet seat etc... and don't try and push it straight up. It must slope with your vagina i.e. towards your lower back.

If inserted correctly you won't be able to feel it at all while it is in there. But definately start off with applicator's. Makes the whole process a lot less daunting.

Try putting one foot on the bath tub or something. It shouldn't hurt to have it if it does you didn't put it far enough up in there. Or possibly too far just pull that one out and try again. Put it in walk around a bit and if you can tell its there then thats when you ry another one. Also try the ultra thin ones from Playtex. They have them from light to extra super in the thin size. Also don't use ones that are extra super if you are having a light day just becuz it will last longer and remember to change it everytime you use the bathroom. Oh yeah and anoter good hint pull it out before yu pee or whatever. Its pretty gross grabbing a pee string.

Well first make sure you use the right absorbency for your needs. And then stand up and put your foot on the side of the tub and just insert it until you cant feel it anymore. They take a bit to get used to but once you get the hang of it they are gret. GOOD LUCK

It doesn't hurt to put it in. Just read the instructions on the box. If it hurts after you have it in then you probably put it in wrong, take it out and try again. Its not that bad & they're tons better than wearing gross pads.

USE PEARLS FROM TAMPAX
