There are some beautiful hymns and choruses being sung in churches today.
But there is also some music that is being played in churches that ought not to be. The reason people give for playing this kind of music is because they want to seem young and hip.

There is a lot of realy nice church music out there. Perhaps the guy that makes the selection does not share your taste.

Try Bach cantatas, or Haendel work, it's old but it's really cool.

Although I do have an appreciation for the standard hymns. Not all of it is ridiculous. You should try searching Morningstar Woship online(I think it is under eaglenest.org), also try Jo
anna mcfatter, Scott Brenner...Keep searching...the good stuff is out there. Or--you could just make your own merry tune from your heart!:)

Be Blessed.

I've found great pleasure (spiritual and audio) in being a little white guy singing with a predominantly African-American baptist church.

They're doing something right, at least musically.

Ask them to step up the tempo. Some services do bring in guitars, and drums. Or maybe you'd rather be doing something else.

Maybe sometimes because you don't believe the words that are being sung?

Maybe occasionally a new organist is needed .... or add drummer, guitar, etc.
