When I answer 1 handset and the call is for someone else in the house and they pick up the 2nd handset it doesn't work, caller has to call back and the person wanted has to answer on the 2nd handset. This phone set is a 1 jack and 1 not needing jack...HELP

did you register your 2nd handset correctly? try setting up your handset for auto-answer! Geoff is right...I also have the Uniden....check all your set-ups again!!

This is normal and is common with many dual handset cordless phones. The base is not capable of handling more than one cordless handset in use at a time. Instead, there should be a button on the phone that will allow you to transfer the call to the other handset. On my Uniden phones, the button says xfer. When I press it, it makes the base and the other handset ring as if the call was just coming in. That will allow the other handset to take the call.
