Old Projector TV uses three small CRT for each basic color. in order to get the correct picture this three CRT must come have correct angle off shooting to the back mirror so it can produces good picture. If your color split than you need to adjust, this is really pain full in the old days, but Projection TV this day has auto convergent and just need to push one button, if it isn't work something wrong with the unit, maybe the STK IC.

your convergence is off~~traces make it look like 2 or 3 pictures of the same thing on the screen. Sometimes remotes have a place to adjust it on the remote through settings. Older bigscreens have a bunch of little knobs under a panel (usually in front) to adjust it. If the picture is bowed, or curved away from the sides or top any, then the convergence chips need to be replaced, that can get costly, usually between $250-$450 depending on who you call.

Check you owners manual and see if your set will allow you to do convergence. If it is listed in the manual there should be a procedure to correct the problem. Convergence is something you should only attempt if you have either the manual to tell you how to do it or, if you have been trained to do so.

Convergence on a big screen can take hours to do. This is not a 30 minute job, you will need patience and time, however when you have finished, you will reap your rewards.

Good luck
