The very famous Harvard Professor, William James who is also considered "the father of Psychology" and probably the most respected American Philosopher thats ever lived did a lot of research into the possibility of life after death towards the end of his career. From what I've read by him, the most compelling argument in favor of the possibility of life after death is the fact that there is no know physical basis for consciousness and the reality of the existence of premonitions. In other words, from what we know, consciousness exist outside of time and our physical bodies and may therefor continue after our physical bodies have died. Personally, I think that life in the way we think of it is indistinguishable from consciousness. Because if we don't know that we are alive, in our way of thinking, we are not alive at all. If what life is then, is consciousness, and consciousness doesn't depend on our physical being, then yes, I don't see why life after death wouldn't be possible.

Does that mean I really believe in life after death? Not in the same sense that I believe that tomorrow will be Tuesday, or with certainty. But in the sense of accepting it as a real possibility, the answer is; yes.

PS: I hope you didn't mind the long explanation of my answer.

There is no such thing. If you use a bit of sense, you can work it out. The body lives because of the brain which governs everything in our body, once the heart wears out and/or stops the brain cant function, the body dies. there is not a separate being that floats off. The bible tell us that 'the dead are dead and no nothing, for in the day a man dies his sole goes back to the ground' After all he made us he must know what he's talking about. If you are now going to say 'what about ghosts and spirits' well thats easy explained. Again the bible tell us that all these come from the devil, his followers or demons know everything about us and appear to us as a dead friend or relative with all the information needed to fool us,There is no such thing as good spirit after all it also warns us about consulting spirit mediums and fortune tellers.
The sole in fact means 'life force' or blood, after all without blood we cant exist

Hi, I like to think that there was. This passed year has made me believe in it more for various reasons. My nana passed away and i heard voices n stuff and loads of weird stuff kept happening. The clock that haddent worked in my nanas house since i was little started to work. The lights kept flckering when i mentioned her name. And my auntie had a dream about not seperating something. Then when she was in the shower the necklas my aunti had on fell of and the pendant which belonged on the necklas my dad had fell off. So my nana didnt want the two pendants to be seperated. Also the night she passed away in the hospital room she was in was freezing and the door kept oopening by itself and my nana kept looking in the air and moving her mouth as if she was talking to someone We think it was my Grandad waiting for her to take her.
Also i sense people around me, my other nana that died before i was born had a plaque at our cemetry that we thought had been take down nearly 18 years ago. But the first time we went up in years . I wasnt even looking for the plaque as we thought it wasnt there anymore. But something made me stop and i put my hand on the wall then looked at my hand and there it was. The plaque. Its like someone told me it was there, I did the same with my boyfriends Grandad PLaque to. Its nice to know that there still with us.

I believe in heaven, but I don't think that exactly qualifies as life. I believe in heaven and hell as places human souls exist for eternity after the body dies. I'm not sure about reincarnation, but I think it's good idea. Maybe every so often God asks everyone in heaven if they want to "go again" and you can get reincarnated if you want. I don't know about those in hell... Maybe the get reincarnated as a sort of chance to redeem themselves, kind of like the Hindu tradition I guess.
I believe in thise things based on what I've been taught, but I've also formed my own ideas based on my understanding of God. I think there needs to be something after this, or else what's the point of this existence? If we just fade into nothingness, why bother?
I guess I believe because I need there to be something else to keep me going, dire as that may sound.

It does seem rather unlikely , don't you think? I mean Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Harry Houdini both promised faithfully they'd send us a sign. And we got NOTHING. How COULD there be life after death?

The only way to live forever is to have children and then the life goes into the children.

I mean, is there life after death for foxes or chickens? or for a blade of grass?

I'm surprised you have to ask this question. There's nothing.

i believe 4 2 reasons(i'm strongly cathlic but i look at ancient Egyptian studies):
1. I'm a cathlic and think i'll be with god
2. Egyptians are sure of this "Afterlife" on "Underworld."
