Some companies will not allow their employees to only say "Happy Holidays" and not respond in anyother way.

Why should it? They're just being friendly and thoughtful...and, after all, it IS Christmas.

I was raised Jewish. I am Pagan now. So I never celebrated Christmas. But am I "disturbed" by it? No. Annoyed would be a better word. I just think it's annoying when Christians just presume the whole world is Christian. I don't start an argument or anything. I always have responded with "You too" and go about my day. As of last year, I started saying "Happy Christmayulekwanzaakkah!" That way I don't leave anyone out and all my bases are covered. :-)

My family (for religious reasons) never celebrated Christmas but it never bothered me to hear that phrase. In fact, I usually say it back because it is a nice thing to say. I celebrate the holiday now with my husband, but I am not religious. I don't really see the big deal at all, and I think people are WAY too sensitive about these things.

I'm an atheist and no it doesn't disturb me. Christmas is my favorite time of year because people seem to genuinely care about one another. Awww.

I know that there is a nice sentiment behind the comment, so that's why it doesn't bother me. I say it myself because 85% of you are Christians, so I have an 85% chance of not offending you.

No It doesn't unless the person is very well aware that I do not celebrate Christmas.

We thank them and respond in kind. We might say, "happy holidays", but the sentiment is alway a positive one.

I used to not celebrate Christmas and it embarassed me when someone would say it because I couldn't say it back. I would just say thank you instead.

No, honestly...who cares. If someone says Happy Hannukah....I don't get offended. It's the thought that counts, and they are only trying to be nice to me. I simply say thank you.
