You're probably afraid to make changes in your lifestyle. You might be afraid to try because you are afraid to fail, or you might be afraid of what life would be like as a thinner, healthier person.

I suspect your real question, though, is, "How can I get motivated?" and not so much, "Why am I NOT motivated" -- that's a question that can be answered without knowing you personally. Get yourself a support network in place. Find people to exercise with you. Tell your friends and family you want to make some changes and you'd like their support. Pick a physical activity you like to do and do it for 20-30 minutes 3-4 days a week, to start. Once your body gets used to moving, the motivation will come easier.

You may need to talk yourself into this. But keep reminding yourself that a little bit of sacrifice now -- whether it's time you're giving up or calories -- is probably not something you'll miss a year from now. You're going to live the next year anyway. You might as well be 50 pounds lighter. And losing 1 pound a week is a very sensible and reasonable expectation.

The good thing about weight loss being so slow is it allows you to adjust to your thinner self a little bit at a time. If it happened overnight like magic, you'd be completely lost. So whatever you choose to do to drop the pounds, DO IT. And then maybe it won't be so hard to do it again the next day.

Don't starve yourslef. It may work for some people but it is very unhealthy. My dad said that if you don't eat like breakfast your body will just store more fast from the last meal you had, which then means you'll actually gain weight instead of losing it.And maybe to get those nice abs and lose the 25 pounds, maybe a personal trainer will help a lot!But you might have a busy schedule to follow.Sometimes a strict cottage cheese diet works. Also for those late night snacks or just a regular snack, stay away from the junk.Take an apple or cut up some kind of veggie. Also, cut out soda.I hope I helped! Mady xD

Could be fear...You know I was a bit unmotivated myself. I was afraid I would fail at my goals, I was afraid that I'd be embarassed at the gym, I was afraid that all my hard work wouldn't change anything...That kind of fear can be very demotivating.

On the other hand you could be depressed too. People with weight problems are often depressed. Depression is extremely demotivating.

Please see your doctor and ask for help. Perhaps if they find you are depressed they can get you some medication that will make such a difference in your world that you'll be able to go out and get fit.
Use the buddy system, get someone to hit the gym with you, or start walking with you. It always helps to have a friend doing it with you. But do not rely only on that friend. If your friend quits working, don't you! Keep at it. You can do it. It's hard, but it is SO worth it. You can email me if you want!

Many patients ask me how they can slim down. I am against prescription pills because I prescribed them many years ago, and some of my patients became very ill.

I now recommend that people eat right and exercise. However, if they would like a little "help", I now recommend Hoodia (it's important to note that not all Hoodia works well, even if the bottle says "pure" or "standard".

The Hoodia being sold at http://www.alllsite.info/free-diet-pills.php is in my opinion, the best product on the market. It's pure, no side effects, and it's only $4.97 for 2 weeks (yes, less than $5 !). My patients have seen dramatic results with this particular Hoodia.

I used to have the same problem! I wanted to loose about 25 lbs, and at first I forced myself to do step-aerobics till I lost it, but quickly gave up becasue I didnt enjoy it!
A year later, I gained all 25 lbs back.
About 4 months ago I started working at the animal hospital and part of my job was to walk dogs! I quikcly lost it all and now I take my own dog for a walk almost everyday. Its fun, not overly-exerting and I althought somedays I take a break, I have kept the wieght off!
You just have to try new things untill you find somthing you *enjoy*. otherwise, you will end up giving up on it.
Good Luck!

I didn't get motivated to lose weight until I found this free weight loss website: http://www.sparkpeople.com

I lost 30 lbs in 3 months by using it to track my calories consumed and burned in the online calorie counter.

It makes your accountable by actually seeing how much you've eaten and exercised that day. It's great!
