One Islamic sect in particular believes that Jesus escaped death, and lived happily ever after, some say in Northern India, where the tradition is strongly held today. Islam in general considers Jesus only as a Prophet, and will not accept divinity or resurrection stories.

In the Gospels, Jesus(pbuh) prayed to God when he realised that the Jews intended to crucify him. Allah tells us in the Quran that he answered this prayer (if you believe this part in the "bible").

And because of their saying (in boast), "We killed Messiah Iesa (jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allah," - but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of Iesa (jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man), and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not (i.e. Iesa (jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) ):
( سورة النساء , An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #157)

Muslims do not believe in the "original sin" as in Christianity because Adam and Eve, after commiting the sin in the garden asked and were forgiven for it. Sin cannot be inherited in Islam as each and every individual is responsible for his or her actions and intentions up to their knowledge and capacity.

There is evidence for this, even in the modern bible, since Jesus is supposed to have eaten food after his "crucifiction". He was taken up to God and he did not die so when he returns he will live as a follower of Muhammad (pbut) who was the last of the messengers. He will, like all humans, then die.

There are talks on this very subject that you can download from the link below.

There are also question and answer sessions on the Islam channel (Sky 813) and Unity channel (sky 825 eg Yusuf Chambers) in the UK.

You could also get a more detailed explanation from emailing Yusuf Estes (link below) who used to be a christian missionary.

We dont beleive God would need to sacrifice a man to save all people of the world for sinning.
We beleive Jesus (peace be upon him) was sent by God to guide the Jewish people back to the true laws of God, that is why he spent so much of his life preaching in synagougs, and that is why he said "Go not into the way of the Gentiles, but only to the lost sheep of Israel",

We beleive he was not put on the cross or resurrected.
We dont believe God would need to expereince the life of a man in the flesh (God knows our thoughts, our desires, our needs- why would he need to be born and live among us?)
We dont beleive God could BEGET a son- he could conceive a son, or would Need to have a half human son.

We dont beleive in original sin, or in being saved through the Grace of Jesus, each person is responsible for their actions and it is deeds and faith in God that get us to Heaven.
Hope that answered your Question. Peace.

I'll be honest and kind and tell you what I know.
Now this is according to teachings of Islam.
Jesus just went up to God fully alive, another man I believe to be named Judas was on the cross instead.
That is all I know.
It has something to do with a missing book called Barnabas.

Islam says Jesus was just another prophet. Islam leaves a believer without a Savior. Islam says you are saved by your works. Islam leaves a person hopeless.
