How about the fact that many of them turned straight without any gene manipulation after they became Christians?
How about the fact that there are bisexuals which indicate they are undecided about which way to go?

How about the fact that there is no hard evidence that being gay is genetic?
How about the fact that as the world has become more accepting of gays, more people are turning gay? That indicates that they are choosing to be gay after trying it for a while since it's more acceptable. Do you think that all of a sudden genes just started producing more gay people? NO!! They are just following society by choice.

The evidence is there if you choose to see it. But if you choose to remain blind to sin, you will never see the truth.

Try reading the good hard evidence presented by NARTH at
(http://www.narth.org).

NARTH is not a religious group. They are a group with mostly Ph.D. behind their names -- who have studied the behavior of homosexuality from an objective viewpoint. They present A LOT of evidence that homosexuality is indeed a choice. They admit, as do I, that some people have a propensity towards certain behaviors, BUT in the end a choice still has to be made.

If you take the time to read the articles and research data on NARTH, you can learn the truth and factually rest your case. No need to enter Christians or any other religion into the debate. Homosexuality is indeed a choice.

Only those who buy into the made-for-TV brainwashing believe otherwise as there is NO hard evidence that it anything other than a choice. BTW, the majority of the data collected saying homosexuality is natural is from activists on the topic. The so-called "gay gene" introduced by Dean Hammer was a hoax perpetrated by Hammer (which he late admitted). Kinsey was a homosexual pedophile who largely studied prison populations. That's why his research was discounted by ALL respected scientists of his time.
And the animal kingdom is NOT the place to look to prove natural homosexuality either. That research is majorly flawed. The recent data on rams and penguins is a huge joke, when looked at objectively.

Here's one last thing to consider...
1) If we believe the Bible, it is clear that homosexuality is not only a choice, but one that is NOT endorsed by God.
2) If we believe in evolution, we know the homosexuality is not natural or we would have both sets of genitalia. After all, it's all about survival of the fittest. And no species could survive more than a single generation if it was homosexual.

Either way, the truth is that homosexuality is a choice. It is not natural, nor normal. Think it over -- what could possibly be normal about a man inserting his penis into the anus (defecation orifice) of another man? There's no way to see that as natural or normal.

"Love" is a whole different story that I won't broach in this answer.

I think evidence of that sort would merit a Nobel Prize of some sort. But so far the only thing I've ever seen is a kind wishful (and somewhat spiteful) thinking.

I have read some amusing accounts on here wherein the writer concedes he is sometimes attracted to males but knows that's a sin and therefore resists. Methinks this may presage an unhappy marriage or two.

UPDATE: To "libralove" . I'm sure you got up one morning and went ..."Mmmm ... gay, or straight, tough decision! But hey! all things considered .. I think a straight life is the way for me." Yeah, sure you "chose," right. Give me a break.

And by the way, whoever mentioned NARTH, which has been on the attack against gays since at least 1922, either doesn't know who they are or is peddling their pernicious wares.

Choice? That is absurd. I am attracted to men. I did not choose to be attracted to men. I just am. It sure would be a whole lot easier if I could choose to be attracted to my best friend. She and I talked about this. We love each other and men have been nothing but trouble in our lives, but damn it we just do not have the right equipment for each other. Neither of us has ever even experimented with another woman. It is the way we were born born!!!!!!!!!

Are you serious? A christian somewhere said so. What more evidence could anyone possibly need to be completely and utterly convinced? I rest my case.

Dear Red Eye,

Homosexuality is sin. It is rebellion against God, just as stealing or murder or lying are. Many people have the idea that if they have not killed someone or committed adultery they are pretty good. But God says, "For all have sinned...." The punishment for sin is eternal damnation in hell. The Lord does not "owe" us anything! In fact it is simply God's wonderful mercy and grace that anyone is even saved from hell. The only way for a person's sins to be removed is if someone pay the penalty for him/her. Christ, th God-Man was the only one that could pay that awesome debt. Can you understand that?

well i'm agnostic and i find it hard to believe that there is a gay gene and that people are born gay because when all is said and done i believe that being gay is a decision that a person makes just like picking to belong to a religion or not and which god or religion to pick all of those are choices and decisions that are made due to preference but that's my belief

whether it is a choice or not is irrelevant, the act of sex between same couple partners is the sin, therefore the choice is to not have sex with someone of the same sex as that is the sin, or choose to have sex and commit the sin. i don't think you can rest just yet on this issue.

The simple fact that even gay people don't choose to have sex 100% of the time.

Those laws were needed to populate the earth so man could carry the yoke. We have enough men to carry the yoke now.
