I wake up every morning with the worst pain in my throat. It hurts to swallow. It feels like dried up mucas/flem is lodged in the throat and all day my throat feels dry besides the mucas that keeps building up. Is there anythin I can do for this. Also I play varisty baketball so do you think this will decrease my endurance.

I suggest you try salt water nasal spray and rinse your nose several times daily. You might also contact an allergist to see what you are allergic to or what infection you may have.

make sure you are adequately hydrated. The usual formula is body wt / 2=the minium number of oz of water you should drink daily ( more is needed if you are very active)---This means if you weogh 100 lbs /2=50oz of water per day.---Talk to your doctor first. He can help you figure out how much more to add during b-ball season. The water will also help thin down secretions which should help that dry lumpy feeling you get in your throat.

Ask your Dr. for ASTELIN. It's a spray that works wonders for Post Nasal Drip.
The only thing is that it can sometimes burn if you use it for a while. But it is the best thing I have ever used. Nine used to be so bad it would make me throw up.

I have the same problem. My doc prescribed me medicine for my runny nose (back drainage) in ht emornings drink something hot or eat something hot.coffee, tea, oatmeal grits. Something quick a tsp on honey. These will push all that crap lodged in your throat down.
