Ionize means pulling electrons off of an atom. Ionized hydrogen is just the proton. That's really more of a science question then anything else. Check the chemistry board for more info.

ionize is when an atom gets an inbalance of a neutral charge. To ionize is to make an atom have either a positive or negative charge.
