I've seen a few times that people complain about Christians coming to their doors and handing out pamphlets. Well, I have got to know if that's true or if you're just saying that because you think it's true? Cause, I live in an area with four catholic churches and nearly a hundred other Christian churches, and no one has ever rang my doorbell but the vacuum and magazine sales people.

Seriously, send them my way. They'd be a breath of fresh air.

Again, are they really showing up at your door, or are you saying that because you heard or think that that's what Christians do?

Fireball, I'm Catholic. I don't mind talking religion, but I"m not changing churches.

One Line Review Guy, nope, not Utah and not JW. Though, I did dare a few JW to actually find my house. They haven't shown up yet and it's been years.

I've had one group show up at my door and offer me a copy of the Watchtower. I was very polite to them and took the pamphlet, and explained that I was always interested in learning about other peoples' religions.

Hi I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, a Christian. I know for a fact that we still go from door to door. We also Witness in other ways so as to reach those who may not be available at home.

I cannot say why it has been so long since you have talked with a Witness. It may be that you live in a large territory and thus it takes quite a while to go through it. Another possibility is that when we call on your home you are unavailable. You say you have dared Witnesses to call on you. Not sure how you did that with out talking to us, but, if you really want a Witness to come by you can call the local Kingdom Hall.

They knocked on mine Thanksgiving day right when we were trying to eat then acted like I was rude for yelling at them.

I have a flier on my door at least every other week. They usually hit the afternoon, so we aren't there.

I don't see JWs (who were really bad, about every other week) all that often since I happened to be going out to shoot, and answered the door with a 9mm in my hand (purely coincidental) and I told him that if I saw any of them again I would take advantage of the property laws here in Texas. I think they got it, but there are still others.

All sects of Christianity don't do this, but there are some that do. I also get phone calls (like telemarketers!) and pamphlets mailed to me. I believe it's the Lighthouse Ministries, but not certain.

I live in a very small community on the central coast of California

Mainly Jehova's Witnesses. Yes, it's true. And they're frikken hard to get rid of, and they talk a lot of nonsense.

Also when I was a child, the Catholic Church sent goons round to tell my mother she hadn't donated any money in the church so far that year, and how much should they expect from her? That's just evil...

Yes, it is true. I (used to) live in a very small town in michigan and people would come maybe twice-three times a year. But it definitely wasnt something that anybody should be annoyed with or complain about. They werent selling anything, if you didnt want to receive what they were offering, a simple no-thank you. Or in our case, Save your flyers becuase we are believers too.

mormons, Jehovas Witnesses, and Catholics are ALL christian denomoniations.

personally I don't mind these people, and if I have time and am not busy I'll stand there and "debate" with them.

longest was about 20 minutes once. ... yes, occasionally they do actually come to the door.

I want to give you a few sites that I think would be of a major help for you, my friend. You will see them located below in the "source section." Have a GREAT day! ><> I must tell you just yesterday at my church a girl who was once an atheist, shared her testimony about accepting Jesus as her personal Lord & Savior through our youth nights every Saturday! It was truly incredible! And you know what....He sure can do the exact same thing in YOUR life only if you have that desire in your heart! Oh....and I almost forgot! Here are a couple verses for you to read, my dear! :-)

"Those who seek Me diligently, find Me." ~ Proverbs 8:17

"No one can please God without faith, for whoever comes to God must have faith that God exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." ~ Hebrews 11:6

It's happened to me at my house more than a few times. I meet them at the door and politely tell them they are believing in a man made fiction. Then they turn and leave.

I've had several missionaries at my door over the years. They come from one of 3 groups...mormons, jws and black baptist. Other groups seem to prefer to use the US Mail.
