No. Americans spell it as chiles. Most of the world spells it as "chillies" or "chillis". I am referring to the spice of course.

Most chilis come from places other than Chile. A majority of chil peppers either come from the southwestern part of the United States and from Mexico and or southeast Aisa as well.
