He is an 11 year old Cockerspaniel/Terrier mix. He is coughing a lot, it listless, can't sit still, very tired a lot, is making weird noises when he breathes. Have you ever had a dog with heartoworm and, if so, did he or she have these symptoms and how did you cure it (what was the cost)?

Take your dog to the vet immediately.

These are signs of heartworm, but it might also be respiratory infections or bronchitis.

If it is heartworm, it is very serious. The dog will have to stay at the vets office while he is treated with some very strong medication. It takes awhile. Some dogs do not live through it because the medication is so strong.

Right now, your dog needs to see a vet!!!!

dogs could be on heartworm preventative each month for their lifetime. in case you could not arise with the money for the pills then you incredibly in all likelihood can not arise with the money for to have this dogs. A heartworm attempt is performed in domicile and many times costs approximately $40. Heartworm drugs relies upon on the load of the animal and which preventative is chosen and fees selection - often offered in a 6 or 12 month grant at a time. that's obtainable that she is contaminated already - interior the beginning up there are few and many times times no signs and indicators. The online drugs, to my know-how, desires to have a vet authorization verifying a unfavorable heartworm attempt so she desires to be examined first. Heartworms are transmitted by using a mosquito chew. The larvae migrate to the midsection and then start up producing the infant heartworms. As they mature the worms surely clog the midsection inflicting increasing indicators and could at last reason loss of existence. that's thoroughly preventable as long because of the fact the drugs is given each and each month for existence. Do the responsible element and take to the vet and get her examined and on preventative. there is not any shortcut in this.

We have had several dogs in our rescue with heartworms.
They are listliss and they cough when they exert themselves.
We routinely check all our dogs and put them on preventative for heartworm.
If we have to treat one it costs about $700 to do so.
They give the dog shots and they must be kept crated for about two weeks and then another shot and back to the crate.
If you do not crate them as the worms die off they can cause a stroke or the dog can die.
It is far cheaper to keep the dog on preventative meds than to treat for heartworms.

My dog had worms but i am not sure if it was heart worm. But you do need to take him to the vet and the vet will take blood and test it. Heart Worm usually comes from mosquitoes when they bite the dog the lay eggs in them and it turns in to worms but that happens if you live on warm places. But it really sounds like he has kennel cough or bronchitis. But git him check ASAP.
I pray everything is ok.

Well, my dog had heart worm, but he didn't have any of those symptoms, those are the symptoms that the vet looks for, but we hadn't noticed my dog doing that, he's ok now but he has to take pills every month. I'd say you should get to your vet soon!!

You need to get your dog to the Vet ASAP. It is impossible for us to diagnose on the internet. It might be heartworm, but it might be a lot of other things too. Please don't delay. Best wishes to you and your dog.
