The meteor theory is the strongest at the moment. There is a giant crater in the gulf of Mexico, and an impact of that strength would have long term implications for the weather around the planet - i.e. if they weren't hit by the meteor (and most weren't) and lived in China, say, they would still die through loss of habitat and fierce weather. Smaller animals survived by simply having wider niches (so to speak) and by being able to hide more easily.

Noone knows because noone was around.

Anything anyone says is a Theory.

An Additional Theory would be they didn't exsist and everything on Earth is a hoax or blasifamist at the rate some people go. *rolls eyes*

There are a few Theories involveing Meteor Strikes and Meteor Showers. They include that because the Dinosaurs were taller they sufficated from the toxic air that some how wasn't on the ground,.. that the Meteor clouds created an Ice age,.. or that the Meteor caused so much heat and damage some ice melted at one of the Poles and the Earth shifted reverseing where it was hot and cold,.. but createing a kind of balance... so our current Poles were not the original.

There are so many Theories,.. so so many.

[BTW,.. since there are so many Meteor theories... obviously more then I listed,.. there are so many places they think a Meteor, a shower, or a specific number hit. People try to figure out if things are Meteors or the result of Meteors in those locations and as more Meteor are discovered or POSIBLE Meteors... more Theories are made. XD It's just never ending.]

No one really knows for sure, but the asteroid theory is credible because scientists are fairly sure that whatever happened to them, happened over a relatively short period of time.
So they look at the globally catastrophic possiblities.

you see what happened was these funny looking aliens came and killed all the dinosaurs for their skin and meat and left the bones for humans discover millions of years later.

Honestly we don't know for sure, and until we invent a time machine we may never know for sure.
