Tubulance is dependent on the weather on the path you are flying. Typically turbulance is worse during warm days. Cooler air tends to be smooth. When a place hits turbulance, it shakes. Its no big deal at all. If youve ridden in an SUV, especially an older one, you have experienced something similar. Dont sweat it. Im a pilot and fly very small aircraft. With small planes you get a lot of turbulance, but if you are flying in a larger aircraft it's not bad at all. All you need is one flight and you will most likely not be afraid of it anymore. Airplanes are built to withstand a lot of turbulance.

Turbulence is just when you hit uneven pockets of air. It feels a bit like you are driving on a bumpy road. Once in a great while you will hit an air pocket where it feels more like a roller coaster, but I think that has only happened to me once. Most flights have very little turbulence. If you are really worried, sit closer to the front, the front moves less. I wouldn't worry, its not what people make it out to be.

Your going to get turbulence anytime of the year. Sometimes it can get bad but you have to fight through. I suggest drinking alcohol before the trip.
