i honestly dont think we give men the credit they deserve. They are perfectly capable of taking care of THEIR children without us. We always seem to think we are superwomen. Yet they are fathers and are just as good as we are. I married a single father and he does a wonderful job with his kids and my kids. He raised two boys since they were infants. Theres nothing wrong with a man standing up to the plate taking care of kids, they dont need a woman to tell them how to do it. They may do this different than us, but most men will take the time and figure out how to change a childs diaper and give them baths.

My husband has taken care of our girls from the time they were born and they are now 6 years and 18months. He has them every weekend that I am gone working. He gets more done in one day with the girls than I can get done in 3 days with them. I mean he cooks, cleans, does the yard work, gets them bathed and a does a craft. He is like super-dad and any kid would be lucky to have him.
Although, the way I read your question it doesn't seem to be asking what GOOD things are men are capable of. If you are concerned that a man is capable of doing harm to a child you shouldn't have children with them or if you have you should make other arrangements for the kids while you are gone. Regardless of what good or bad could be done, men and women are both capable of the same things...good or bad.
Trust your instinct and not your paranoia.
God Luck

Men can (and should) do everything with and for their children. When my daughter was born, I was so afraid to give her baths or take her temperature (THAT way) or anything other than hold her or change her diaper. I was afraid that I would burn her or hurt her in some way that I let her mother do it all. Well, it almost cost me my relationship with her mother because she saw it as me not pulling my share, which she was right.
NOTE TO ALL FATHERS: Stand up, be a man, and take your share of responsiblity for the life that you helped create! It's no longer enough that we be the money makers with the women being money makers too. Fathers need to get on the ground and play, change diapers, give baths, and all around be a focal point in their child's life.

Dads should be capable of doing everything mom can do (except breastfeeding of course!). This is exactly the attitude that makes some dads step back and not be involved. Let them try. Let them do it their way. Then they will bond with their child and become confident fathers.

Actually, I work at home and am the bread winner. My wife goes to school full time to pursue her degree and I stay home and take care of my son. I make all his meals from scratch and control his diet 100% of the time. I set his sleep times, play times and feedings. So some men do do .777777777777777 btw, my son

My husband can do everything but breastfeed. With my older children, I had to take a trip for 4 days and left him in charge. With my littlest one, he didn't change a diaper until his cord fell off but now makes up reasons to call in sick so he can stay home with us!!!

I'm not sure that I understand the question.
Pretty much everything and anything (short of breast feeding).
