I will be on a flight that is 10hrs long. For sure the battery on my laptop will not last that long. I want to watch movie and stuff to keep from going crazy I guess. I'm traveling coach class (LOL). I'm traveling on American Airlines. The type of plane is called a BOEING 767 JET. I was wondering if anyone knew if they have adaptors on the plane and if they did where can I buy an airplane laptop cord. By the way I have a Dell laptop. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Having traveled in the past w/ a laptop on business:

The power ports on most planes I've flown equipped w/ them are DC, so you can't simply plug your AC power cord into them.

You need to purchase a power inverter. Then figure out if the plane you're riding provides power ports for electronic devices. They may be the same as the ports in your car, probably not. Plug your laptop power cord into your inverter, then plug the inverter into the port.

Big issue I had was figuring out if my plane had ports (the newer or newly retrofitted ones had them), and then hoping that the ports actually worked. Half the time they didn't. Good luck.

On AA's 767, coach seats do have power ports, but not every row. Take a look at

Or better yet go to AA's website and look for info on power ports for your plane.
If there is a power port, you will not need an adapter since it's an American carrier, the plug is for US laptops.

I don't believe that they do have adapters on commercial airlines. They only type that usually has adapters are private corporate type aircraft. Here is a link that shows many examples of private jets http://www.jets.com/Private_Jets.aspx

I think energizer has recently come out with a product that is like a portable battery charger for cell phones, they may have one for laptops too.

Have a great flight!

None of the coach class flights i've been on have adapters for power.

Never been lucky enough or could afford any other seats.

Good Luck.

beware: the plane you're flying on would no longer actually have ability so that you'll connect this to. i presumed for particular Lufthansa (going to Germany from U.S. and lower back) would have ability shops, yet they did not! and that i replaced into so bored the entire time because i replaced into banking on being entertained by my pc. i replaced into so upset. some airways have shops and some do not, so keep that in concepts.
