Why have all the Nativity scenes disappeared from our Xmas cards. It seems to be all snowmen or church bells now. Is tis because we may offend some other religion. ?

It is smart to not sell products that appeal only to a small audience. Even if the buyer is a devout Christian, do you think they would not be sending the cards to a few friends who are not? People buy cards that are universally acceptable, and nativity scenes are not.

There are plenty of nativity scene x-mas cards to choose from.

Why are there more options today though? It is because some people are realizing there are actually other people in this country.

Maybe it's just taste in cards. I'm a Christian and I can't ever remember sending out a nativity scene. But, they are certainly Christmas cards. Holiday cards go to our Jewish friends.

Yesss, my precioussss, it's all an evil plot to subdue you.

BWA ha ha ha ha!

C'mon.

It's a business decision. More generic holiday cards sell better.

I'm sure that if you shop at stores that are specifically for Christians you'll find all the religious imagery your heart is longing for. You'll pay more for those than the ones you pick up at the grocery store, though.

I see nativity cards everywhere.

I'm an atheist who celebrates Christmas. I send out Hanukkah cards because I think the menorahs are prettier than the normal Christmas cards.

go to a christian store im sure they will have some there. or go to a hallmark im sure they have some there. however nowadays, christmas is just that. it isnt celebration of anything special to many people.

there are many who know that christmas isnt actually based on christs birth but derived from a pagan holliday. any biblical scholar will tell u that christ was not born on december 25th.

---- no i do too bettie, saw some at target the other day.

Its because people want to celebrate the gift giving aspect of christmas with out claiming the true meaning of christmas. JESUS is the reason for the season. Also...snowmen and santa are more appealing to young children.

Once again, the world wants to cover up the truth of Jesus Christ- and they want something that pleases them- because everyone is selfish and prideful. The bible explains this- and here is a good verse:

Romans 1:25
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

-There is also a verse that tells us they want to suit their own passions and so they are led away from the truth because of it.
But we who love the Lord and are saved- KNOW that He is the reason we celebrate CHRISTmas. And I love my nativity scene!!

Unfortunately, I have no problem seeing religious cards in card shops. Usually in a section called 'Religious'.
